Urban Vines Winery and Brewery. Westfield Indiana.

While visiting some family in Indiana we were discussing some things to do while we were there on our trip. One of the last things I expected to come up was winetasting. Being that I come from Northern California and I’m quite familiar with many of the Napa Sonoma area, wineries and their products this was of interest to myself and my wife. So we felt like we need to check this out. So we got in the car and drove through miles and miles and miles of corn and eventually showed up in Westfield, Indiana and lo and behold there was a winery. At the time I did not know that there was also an on-site micro brewery which was very interesting also but seem to be more of a element with less surprise for Indiana. So we arrived, walked in and it was nice kind of simple but you know not too stuffy or anything like that very kickback. They had a menu with some appetizers and salads also sandwiches available to go with your wine or beer selection. Did taste the wines and was quite surprised also tasted some of the beers. They were quite good. there was outdoor seating in the back, they had a pond and a little vineyard and so I started to dig in to their wines being that Indiana is not really known at least from where I come from as a wine area, I do know that there are some types of grapes that that do grow in these areas and wines that produce and wines are made in the Midwest, but still curious. As I went through the menu, I did see that a lot of them are shipped in from other areas, including a few that we really liked and found out to be familiar because they were from the northern California area where we live and actually we were familiar with these. So I suggest if you’re anywhere in the area stop in. It’s a nice little stop right off the highway. I mean you turn off the highway and park. Outback they had live music which didn’t even stop during a humongous, crazy thunderstorm that lasted about 30 minutes so take it for me, check out, urban vines winery and brewery in Westfield, Indiana see below for website link.
