Last night, I had an amazing dining experience at Sailor Jacks, a waterfront seafood restaurant with a unique atmosphere inspired by Jack London, the renowned writer. The place is adorned with vintage photos and elements reflecting his adventurous life and works. Situated right on the waterfront, the only thing separating you from the water is a small walking path, which wasn't too busy, allowing an unobstructed view. The view faces west, overlooking the Carquinez Strait, just behind San Pablo Bay, which connects to San Francisco Bay. The ambiance features white tablecloths and a rustic charm. The food was outstanding. I enjoyed a seafood gumbo, which was fabulous, packed with mussels, prawns, shrimp, scallops, and some andouille sausage. My wife had the tuna poke, which I tasted, and it was delightful—beautifully stacked tuna over cucumber slices and avocado with a delicious spicy orange sauce. One of our guests had Petrale sole, which was a half fillet served over potatoes and green beans with a mushroom sauce. Another guest chose the short ribs from the menu. The portions were generous, and the service was excellent. The restaurant offers a great view from all areas, with both upstairs and outdoor dining options available. We chose to dine inside. They accept reservations, and since it was Monday night, it was oyster night, featuring six or seven different types of oysters at half price. The restaurant was fantastic, with great service, a full bar, and convenient parking right on the waterfront. I highly recommend this spot for a wonderful dining experience, where you can enjoy a pleasant conversation and a great meal.
