This Christmas, our dear daughters and their fantastic husbands surprised my wife and me with an unforgettable gift: a journey to the enchanting town of Winters, California. This quaint locale, set in the beautiful Northern California landscape, is renowned for its breathtaking scenery, rich agricultural history, and, most notably, its vibrant wine culture.

We were both excited and moved by their considerate gesture, as it promised not only a delightful escape but also the opportunity to create lasting family memories. As we eagerly awaited our trip, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that one of the highlights would be a scheduled wine tasting at the renowned Turkovich Family Winery, a treasure located just outside of Winters. This family-owned winery is renowned for its exceptional wines, crafted with care and passion over three generations, and we couldn't wait to immerse ourselves in the experience of tasting their exquisite selections. The anticipation of exploring the lush vineyards, learning about the winemaking process, and savoring the unique flavors of their wines added an exciting dimension to our holiday adventure.

Upon arrival and check-in, we were welcomed with a glass of wine, and the winery tour was set to begin in roughly 15 minutes. We began with a sparkling Rosé.

We moved to the winery entrance to start the tour.

Once we entered, we began with the fermentation room, which turns into additional barrel storage once the fermentation process is complete.

The tasting room in downtown Winters operates from 10am to 5pm on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and from 10am to 9pm on Thursday through Saturday.
