SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

Northern California Rivers.

McCloud river

Blown out and murky due to the Mt Shasta glacier melt off due to the hot weather.

Sacramento river.

King Salmon up to 40 lbs. in the Redding area. We are just starting to enter into the best part of the year for Central Valley river Salmon.

Pit River.

Temps seem to be staying below 65 deg for now. That's good news with all the heat waves we have been having.

Truckee River.

Continued nice weather is producing good fishing on the river.

Seems the fish are still feeding on crawdads so that might be a good fly imitation to try.

Central Sierra Lakes and Reservoirs.

Indian Creek Reservoir

Fishing is not advised at this time due to a blue green algae bloom.

Lake Tahoe

Fishing is reported to be ok. The sierras have been experiencing extremely high temperature's for the past few weeks. Things should get better when the temps start to drop.

Stampede Reservoir

If you you are able to get down to 90-110 feet deep you can find kokanee. Limits are possible but once again the high temps have been making things tougher.

Lake Almanor

There is a report and warning from the Lake Almanor association that the north end is experiencing a algae bloom and to stay out of the water. the south side of the lake or south of the peninsula is still safe and no warnings for that area. Fishing is still tough once again due to the high temps. Fish are deep and not biting.
