NAPA River

Observed the Napa River today from Highway 37 up to the Monticello side of Napa. The river is quite muddy with visibility around 6 inches. Visited Sweeney Sports today, and Sturgeon fishermen are having success near Highway 37, but there isn't much striper activity to mention because of the muddy conditions. Your best options are likely cut baits like sardines or anchovies. Let them sit in the water.

Lake Berryessa

Drove along Lake Berryessa today; the water looks good with almost no stain. Visibility is about 3 to 5 feet. The water level is 7 inches above the glory hole. There are many bass fishermen on the lake, likely seeing if the bass are biting. I didn't stop to talk to anyone, but as I passed by, I noticed many boats on the water, suggesting it's worth checking out. I'm checking the weather now after this report to see if it's good enough to go out tomorrow. If so, I'll head to Berryessa myself and provide another report.

Putah Creek

Stopped by the creek and watched a fisherman near the bridge using nightcrawlers. I told him that the regulations for Puter Creek require barbless hooks and artificial lures only—no bait. I wasn't confrontational, just pointed out the obvious and mentioned that the sign he parked next to explains this. Putah Creek is a wild trout stream, not stocked, with a zero fish limit, meaning all fish must be released. Only artificial barbless hooks are allowed. The water is stained, with visibility at most around 2 feet.

The water level is approximately 2 feet above the usual, reaching up to the high watermark, though not at flood stage. I also went up to Solano Lake, observed it, and noticed it was stained, with water similarly about 2 feet above normal. I didn't speak to anyone or see anyone catching fish. There were many fishermen at all the access points. However, I only saw about three people fishing, despite the large number of cars at the access points. I'll provide an update tomorrow if I go out. Good luck to everyone.
